CALL FOR GALLERY HIRE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AND FUNCTIONS
BIRD’S GALLERY is proud to introduce an exhibition program for artists & curators to have an opportunity to exhibit in a professional gallery environment.
We welcome artists, curators and collectives practicing in all mediums to submit a proposal for exhibiting in our 2018 program.
The front gallery space with large shop front windows is available for application in a heritage proposed Kew Junction area with many cafes & eateries around, only 10 minutes away from CBD by car or 20 min by tram.
Support and services include:
-Curatorial advice
-Provide professional staffing for the gallery for the duration of the exhibition
-Provide staffing, drinks and glassware for the opening night of the exhibition (snacks are not included)
-Vinyl signage for street-window promotion
-Line advertising and listing in art publications
-Publicity through on-line social-media platforms
-Promotion through our extensive Bird’s Gallery client mailing list
-Designing of exhibition flyers
Artist’s responsibility:
- Printing exhibition flyers
-Emailing & posting of exhibition invitations to artist’s mailing list
-Providing good quality professional JPEG images of current artworks for the website and other social networks
-Providing an Artist statement for the exhibition and updated CV and short Bio
-Installation & removal of the exhibition with the help of Bird’s Gallery staff
-Snacks & nibbles for the Opening Night (optional)
Costs:
Front gallery $2900 inc GST per 4 week exhibition
Front gallery $1950 inc GST per 2 week exhibition
The gallery would take 35% commission from any sale made during the exhibition and a following month.
Proposal Checklist
-Maximum 1 A4 page proposal for exhibition outline including materials, scale, conceptual basis & research
-Up to 10 jpeg images of recent work (10 min video/sound)
-Artist CV & Bio
